"White Fritillary"

Each spring, during our visits to Edgewood County Park and Preserve (in Redwood City, California) we eagerly search for the arrival of the white fritillary. This delicate member of the lily family is rare, and finding it is a special thrill. Edgewood Park's serpentine grasslands support a small community of them, along with an astounding and glorious array of many other spring wildflowers.
