linoleum cut, on rice paper, 12" x 9"

Mission La Purisima Concepcion was founded in 1787. This mission was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 1812. It was reestablished at a nearby site, but by 1934 was in ruins. It became a Conservation Civilian Corps restoration project in 1935 and is now the most completely restored mission in California.
